Shufflrr was co-founded by the brother-sister team of James Ontra and AlexAnndra Ontra. The duo have been developing and marketing presentation software together for more than two decades (and still laugh about it).
As the technology advanced and their expertise expanded, they found that one thing stayed the same: the fundamental need for enterprises to tell their stories.
That’s why Shufflrr was born, and what it lives to do.
As laptops with sight, sound and motion gained traction, so did a need for better presentations. James caught a glimpse of the future and sold some of the first interactive presentation systems. Notable early adopters included IBM, NBC Olympics, Lucent Technologies, British Airways, Cigna, Hilton Hotels, and MGM James Bond.
With a borrowed desk, two phones and licensing rights to the Iguana Presentation system, James and AlexAnndra founded Ontra Presentations. They cold-called prospects every day for eight hours, and within 90 days had landed ABC National Television Stations and Towers Perrin.
YouTube democratized digital video, and their business model needed to evolve. When a client asked "Can you just make it work in PowerPoint?", they developed PPTshuffle — their first user-friendly Slide Library that incorporated multimedia assets and synchronized to a central location.
Ontra evolved into Shufflrr, integrating the practical knowledge, technology, and successes built through 30+ cumulative years. The result was an elegant enterprise solution ensuring consistent business storytelling, while giving teams a quick way to share, shuffle, and show their content.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a shift to remote work for even the largest enterprises. Shufflrr adapted with version-controlled slide update propagation, reuse features, and new collaboration tools to make a difficult time a little bit easier.

James is responsible for vision, strategy and technical development for Shufflrr. He brings over 30 years of entrepreneurial expertise and 20 years experience on both the sales and developmental sides of presentation management software.
AlexAnndra oversees Operations, including client services, sales and marketing. She advises Shufflrr clients through the process: from trial, to content architecture, through the launch, training and then on-going software upgrades. She’s hands-on.
